Characterization of Residents’ Post-Occupancy Modification of Outdoor Spaces in the Housing Estates in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria

Abstract
In the recent past, most outdoor space environment around the residential units have been modified while the remaining ones are currently undergoing modification in housing estates in Aba, Abia State of Nigeria. This modification of the outdoor spaces could rightly be viewed as acknowledgement of failure of the housing development expert. This study therefore is aimed at analyzing the characterization of residents’ post-occupancy modification of outdoor spaces in the housing estates in Aba, south-east Nigeria. The data were derived from a questionnaire survey of 380 households that have outdoor space modification activities in the compound and analyzed using descriptive and principal component analyses.
