Sadat Ibn Adam and Adamu Idris

Abstract

The study examined the effect of Naira re-design policy on the performance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Sokoto State metropolis in Nigeria. Primary data was collected through the use of structure questionnaire from a sample size of 300 registered SMEs which was a 10% from the population of 3,000. The results showed that there have been both positive and negative effect of Naira redesign on the performance of SMEs. The study therefore concluded that considering the mixed outcomes of the Naira redesign policy, there is a need for a more supportive framework to accompany such reforms by increasing collaboration between financial institutions and business communities.
