Taylorism and System Theory on Organizational Management

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyse Taylorism and system theory in contemporary organizational management. The specific objectives were to: examine the influence of work specialization and task standardization on organizational efficiency and productivity; assess the effect of scientific selection, training, and performance-based incentives on employee performance and organizational effectiveness; evaluate the role of managerial control and supervision in enhancing organizational performance; and to examine the influence of interdependence, integration, and coordination among organizational units on organizational effectiveness. This study adopted conceptual review method. Based on the review, it was found that there is an influence of work specialization and task standardization on organizational efficiency and productivity. Scientific selection, training, and performance-based incentives have effect on employee performance and organizational effectiveness. Managerial control has effect on supervision in enhancing organizational performance. Interdependence, integration, and coordination affect organizational units on organizational effectiveness. The following recommendations were made: Organizations should strengthen work specialization and task standardization while maintaining flexibility in operations. Management should invest continuously in scientific employee selection, training, and performance-based reward systems.
