Accounting Information System and Agripreneurship Development in Nigeria

Abstract

The study examined the impact of accounting information system on agripreneurship development in Nigeria. Survey research design method was used for the study. The population of the study consist of 50 selected agriprenure in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The sample size is 50 respondents, the researcher made use of purposive sampling technique. The data was analysed with descriptive statistic, analysis of variance and probit regression. The findings of this study revealed that accounting information system has positive significant effect on growth of agrienurship businesses in Nigeria, accounting information system has positive but insignificant influence on strategies decision making in Nigeria. In conclusion, strengthening financial systems, improving access to affordable funding, enhancing entrepreneurial capacity, and creating a supportive policy and infrastructural environment are critical to advancing agripreneurship development and fostering sustainable economic growth in Nigeria. It was recommended that agrientrepreneurs should adopt and effectively utilize Accounting Information Systems to improve financial record-keeping, budgeting, cash flow management, and decision-making, thereby enhancing business growth and sustainability.
