Smart Working Practices: A Pathway to Employee Resourcefulness
Abstract
The rapidly changing business environment characterized by digital transformation, globalization, and increasing workplace flexibility has necessitated the adoption of smart working practices by organizations. Smart working practices represent a modern approach to work that emphasizes work flexibility, remote working, and technology utilization. These practices are intended to enhance employee resourcefulness, creativity, and adaptability in dynamic organizational environments. Employee resourcefulness, on the other hand, refers to employees' capacity to effectively utilize available resources, solve problems creatively, adapt to changing circumstances, and innovate in the workplace. This paper examines smart working practices as a pathway to employee resourcefulness. Specifically, the study explores how work flexibility, remote working, and technology utilization contribute to creativity, problem-solving ability, and effective use of organizational resources. Drawing on the Job Demands-Resources Theory and Resource-Based View, the paper argues that smart working practices provide employees with the autonomy, technological support, and collaborative atmosphere required to develop resourceful behaviors. The study concludes that organizations that embrace smart working practices are more likely to cultivate highly resourceful employees capable of sustaining organizational competitiveness in the digital age. Key Words: Smart working practices, Employee resourcefulness, Work flexibility, Remote working, Technology utilization, Creativity, Problem solving ability, Resource Utilization.
