Entrepreneurial Mindset and Entrepreneurship Culture in Anambra State, Nigeria

Abstract

This study examines entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurship culture in Anambra State, Nigeria. The study aims to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial creativity on entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial risk-taking on entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurial alertness on entrepreneurial culture in Anambra State. Relevant literature was reviewed. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The survey instrument used in this study was structured questionnaire with 5 Likert scale response. The population of study comprises 2093 with a sample size of 408. The statistical formula by Borg and Gall was employed to determine the sample size. The instruments were subjected to face and content validity. The reliability of the questionnaire was established through the test-retest and Cronbachi Alpha. Simple percentage analysis was used in the analyzing research question. Hypotheses for the study were tested using Linear Regression Analysis. The study revealed that entrepreneurial creativity had a significant positive effect entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial risk-taking have a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurial business alertness has a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial culture in Anambra State. The study therefore concluded that entrepreneurial mindset had a significant positive effect on t entrepreneurial culture in Anambra State, Nigeria. The study recommended that government should recognize and reward any creativity displayed by entrepreneurs and create forums that can challenge entrepreneurs to be more creative. Government should also develop creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity among entrepreneurs by providing seminars and training. Entrepreneurial should not be intimidated by the high risks involved in doing business and invest more resources in order to make profits. Government should encourage facilitation of workshops and seminars for entrepreneurial operators in other to help their improved entrepreneurial business alertness.
