This work was reviewed under the following sub headings: Conceptual Review, Theoretical Frame Work; Theoretical Exposition and Empirical Review. The study was anchored on Transformational Leadership Theory. This study employed a descriptive survey approach. The Population of the study was 2646 staffs; a sample size of 510 was drawn from the population by the use of Borg and Gall formula for finite population. The hypotheses of the study were tested by multiple regression analysis which was carried out with the aid of Statistical package for social science version 23. Findings from the study showed that leadership style had a positive effect on employee performance. The regression results also showed that a leadership style adopted by many firms had a positive effect on employee performance. In view of the findings, the study concluded that there was a positive significant effect of leadership style on employee performance. Based on the conclusion of the study, we recommend that paint manufacturing firms in Anambra state should actively promote and encourage transformational leadership behaviors among their leaders, they should consider implementing transactional leadership principles. Also, should endeavour to implement certain bureaucratic practices, such as well-defined processes, clear job descriptions, and standardized procedures, and emphasize the development of charismatic leadership qualities among their leaders.
