Work Environment and Employee Productivity in the Selected Manufacturing Firms in Cross River State, Nigeria
Abstract
In some chosen industrial companies in Cross River State, Nigeria, this study examined the connection between worker productivity and the workplace. A work environment is a place where tasks are finished. It encompasses both the immediate surrounds of the job and its actual geographic location. Employing a descriptive research design, the research utilized primary data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations from a stratified sample of 40 employees across multiple firms. The findings also identified key challenges faced by firms, including inadequate remuneration and poor recognition systems, which hinder effective task completion. The study concludes that fostering comprehensive, context-specific motivational initiatives is vital for enhancing productivity and quality output in the Nigerian manufacturing sector. Recommendations emphasize the need for integrated motivation policies, improved work environments, and targeted managerial interventions to sustain organizational growth. Key Words: Work Environment, Employee Productivity, Work Quality, Task Completion.
