Metalwork Technology: A Panacea for Entrepreneurship and Job Creation in the Niger Delta

Abstract

The Niger Delta region of Nigeria faces persistent unemployment and underemployment, especially among its youth. This paper argues that metalwork technology skills, when combined with entrepreneurial skills development, can serve as a powerful catalyst for job creation and economic empowerment in the region. The study explores the conceptual foundation of metalwork technology, its intersection with entrepreneurship, the underlying factors for successful startup ventures, and specific job-creation opportunities. The analysis concludes that targeted investment in technical skills, entrepreneurial competence, and an enabling environment can transform metalwork technology into a viable pathway for sustainable livelihood and industrial growth in the Niger Delta.
