Abstract

This study examines the awareness level of Geography students about AI in some selected secondary schools in the study area. Data for this study were obtained through primary and secondary sources. Primary data were acquired from guided questionnaire administration and oral in-depth. Secondary data were extracted from various text books, pamphlets and as well as some relevant pieces of information were acquired from the internets. The data analysis employed mean, standard deviation, and t-test at a 0.05 level of significance including the tested hypotheses formulated for this study by employing Pearson Correlation using, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 27). It was discovered that Geography students’ level of awareness was very high in each of the secondary schools under consideration. It was noticed that most of the students got informed about Artificial Intelligence in schools. Most of the schools were discovered not to have enough facilities that can assist Geography students to have more knowledge about Artificial Intelligence. It was suggested that policy makers should ensure that academic learning through Artificial Intelligence becomes inclusive in the curriculum for students to have more understanding and knowledge. It was also suggested that the government at all levels be more concerned and be financially supportive to each of the secondary schools in the study area for effective learning through Artificial Intelligence.
