Enterprise Resource Planning Attribute and Operational Efficiency of Quoted Food and Beverage Manufacturing Firms in Rivers State
Abstract
This study examined enterprise resource planning attribute and operational efficiency of quoted food and beverage manufacturing firms in Rivers State. It focused was on how enterprises resource planning relate to operational efficiency such as cost efficiency and time efficiency of quoted food and beverage manufacturing firms. The study adopted a correlational research that utilizes the positivist research philosophy. The study population comprised 14 registered quoted food and beverage manufacturing firms in Rivers State (https//: www.directory.org.ng). Census sampling technique was adopted that means the entire population constituted the sample size of the study. However, 6 managers from marketing, production, R&D, strategic, operational and customer service departments constituted the respondents of the study. Sample size of 84 quoted food and beverage manufacturing firms. The data were collected from the respondents using a structured questionnaire which was designed on a 4-point rating scale such as Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. The instrument for data collection was validated through content analysis while its reliability was determined using Cronbach Alpha method. After validity and reliability test, 84 copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents and 80 copies were collected. Statistical analysis was conducted on the data collected while Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypotheses. The statistical analysis was aided with the application of the SPSS 24.0 version. The result of the analysis revealed that enterprise resource planning attribute significantly related to operational efficiency (cost efficiency and time efficiency) of quoted food and beverage manufacturing firms in Rivers State.
