Isaac U. Inwang PhD, Effiong E. Ebieme PhD, Saviour A. Kyrian

Abstract

The primary aim of the study was to assess the influence of career management on the sustainable growth of selected radio broadcasting stations in Lagos State. This study employed a survey research design. This design was selected based on the characteristics of the study challenge. The study's target population comprises all permanent staff of the selected radio broadcasting stations in Lagos State. The Human Resource department of the selected radio stations reports a total employee population of three hundred and forty-six (346) individuals. The study employed a proportionate sampling technique. This strategy was adopted because it provides all subjects in the population an equal opportunity for selection. The data included in this study were acquired from both primary and secondary sources. The principal source of data for this study was acquired via a questionnaire. Simple regression analysis was employed to examine the influence. Findings revealed that career development substantially impacted the sustainable growth of the selected radio broadcasting stations in Lagos State. Furthermore, career pathing substantially impacted the sustainable expansion of the selected radio broadcasting stations in Lagos State. Based on the findings, it was recommended that the management of the selected radio broadcasting stations in Lagos State adopt a systematic learning and development framework, emphasizing skill enhancement and leadership training. The management of the designated radio broadcasting stations in Lagos State should establish and convey clear career trajectories for all positions. These measures would diminish uncertainty, enhance commitment by illustrating a future inside the organization, and facilitate sustainable growth.
