International Law, Global Peace and Security: A Study of the Russo-Ukrainian War

Abstract

The study investigated international law, global peace and security with emphasis on the Russo-Ukraine war from 2014 to date. Despite established international law prohibiting the use of force, the persistence of the war highlights critical gaps in enforcement. The study conclude that the universal political consequences of the war are unforeseeable and have severely damaged the post-WWII world order. It recommends that the UN encourage states to recommit to the UN Charter principles of sovereignty and peaceful coexistence.
