Abstract

This research examines the role of multicultural education in reducing prejudice and fostering national integration. By analyzing theoretical perspectives such as Contact Theory and Social Identity Theory, the paper emphasizes how multicultural education encourages mutual respect and unity. It argues that systematically implementing multicultural education in the Nigerian educational system can address deep-rooted ethnic and religious divides. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers to integrate multicultural frameworks and improve teacher training to foster sustainable national cohesion.
