Detailed Planning and Preparation of Brief Requirements for Client: A Panacea for Sustainable Building Projects Delivery

Abstract

The paper was deployed in the role of investigating detailed planning and preparation of brief requirements for clients in achieving sustainable building project delivery. This was achieved through determining the preliminary stages of building projects delivery that can facilitate client brief development and assessing the essential components of a client brief. The findings suggest that appropriate site selection, site investigation and soil investigation are not duly carried out by most project executors. The study recommends that detailed planning and preparation of client's brief are key aspects of the pre-contract stage of building projects delivery to ensure affordability, quality, and sustainability.
