Organizational Culture and Employee Branding in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria: A Study of Clifford University, Abia State, Nigeria
Abstract
The study deals on organizational culture and employee branding in Clifford University. The specific objectives of the study are to; examine the effect of market culture on employee branding in Clifford University, examine the effect of clan culture on employee branding in Clifford University, examine the effect of Adhocracy culture on employee branding in Clifford University and to examine the effect of hierarchy culture on employee branding in Clifford University. To achieve the objectives of the study survey research design was adopted. Primary data was used through the use of questionnaire. The population of the study is made up of 250 staff of Clifford University. Data collected through questionnaire were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The finding revealed that market culture, clan culture, adhocracy culture and hierarchy culture have significant effect on employee branding in Clifford University. Based on the findings, the study recommends that firms and institutions should pay adequate attention to their culture and ensure that their culture is challenged towards product/service availability and durability as well as customer satisfaction. These will help in improving sales performance and effective service delivery. Also, organizations should assess their organizational culture’s effectiveness by adopting business or organizational strategies such as well-defined mission and vision, core corporate values, employee-focused leadership, and consistency. Organizational cum business managers should develop effective organizational culture in order to shape the organization’s external image by paying close attention to employee branding, market culture, adhocracy culture and hierarchy culture.
