Non-Monetary Incentives and Employees’ Commitment in Champion Brewery Plc, Uyo Akwa Ibom State

Abstract

The study was conducted to assess the influence of non-financial incentives on employees’ commitment in champion breweries plc, Akwa Ibom State. Survey research design was employed for the study. Population for the study was 92. Primary source of data was used for the study. Instrument for data collection was a structure questionnaire. Simple random sampling technique was used in administering the questionnaire. Descriptive and Inferential statistics was used in analyzing the collected dat. The inferential statistics was simple linear regression. Findings from the study revealed that employees’ recognition, job security and job autonomy all showed a positive influence on the commitment of employees in Champion breweries plc, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. As such, it was concluded that non-monetary incentives significantly influence employees’ commitment in champion breweries plc, Uyo. As recommendations, there is need for the management of champion breweries to recognize the employees’ effort as this arouses inner feeling of satisfaction which gives greater sense of belonging in the organization. Also, management of champion breweries should assure employees of job security, a condition precedent to employees’ loyalty and commitment to the organization. Equally, managers should always endeavor to delegate some of their duties to subordinates and give them authority to make decisions in their areas of working jurisdictions. This can be a great source of motivation that can lead to development in organizations.
