Investigation of the Effect of Employee Benefits on the Performance of the Workers at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso
Abstract
The mass exodus of employees in Nigeria Hospitals in recent times especially the medical professionals and the incessant industrial unrest at all levels of health sector coupled with high decline in the quality of health service delivery in Nigeria has informed this study. This study therefore evaluated the effect of employee benefits on workers’ performance in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital (LTH), Ogbomoso. The study population comprised the staff of LAUTECH Teaching hospital Ogbomoso. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient (PPMC) were employed as analytical tools for the study. The result revealed that Health Protection, Food Benefits, Benefit for financial Security, Annual Leave and Safety has a positive significant effect on Worker’s Performance. It is thus, recommended that additional training with incentives should be packaged in favor of the employees to improve on their level of efficiency which will in turn enhance the productivity of employees in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.
