Chuks Evans ODUNNA, Uchechukwu Christogonus EGWENIKE, Ugonna Augustina KALUOKORO, Udoka Stephen OTIKA

Abstract

This empirical study investigates how psychological, strategic, and social dimensions of entrepreneurial resilience relate to business survival among micro and small enterprises in Southeast Nigeria. Using a field survey of 300 entrepreneurs across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States, the study assesses reliability of scales, descriptive statistics, correlations, and multiple regression, and explores a mediation mechanism (social capital ? institutional support ? survival). Results indicate that strategic and psychological resilience, as well as social capital, are positively associated with business survival, while environmental turbulence exhibits a negative relationship. Institutional support partially mediates the effect of social capital on survival. Policy and managerial implications are discussed.
