Knowledge Utilization and Performance of Deposit Money Banks in South-East, Nigeria

Abstract

The study investigates the effect of knowledge utilization and organizational performance of deposit money banks in South-East, Nigeria. The study aims to examine the determine the effect of knowledge generation on marketing performance of deposit money banks; knowledge creation on adoptive performance of deposit money banks and knowledge acquisition on organizational effectiveness of deposit money; in South-East, Nigeria. Relevant conceptual, theoretical and empirical literature were reviewed. The study was anchored on Resource Based View (RBV) theory. Descriptive research survey was adopted in this study. The study was carried out in South- East. Primary and secondary sources of data were employed. The population of the study comprises comprised 1288 employees of Deposit Money Banks in South-East while Sample Size of 251 was obtain using statistical formula devised by Borg and Gall. Face and content validity method was used to ensure validity of the instrument. The reliability of the instrument was achieved through test re-rest method. Simple percentage was employed to answer the research questions. Linear Regression Analysis was used in testing hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. It was discovered that knowledge generation had a positive significant effect on marketing performance of deposit money banks (B=.473, t=8.003, p=0.00). knowledge creation had a positive significant effect on adoptive performance of deposit money banks (B=.743, t=22.221, p=0.000) and knowledge acquisition had a positive significant effect on organizational effectiveness of deposit money banks i (B=.367, t=23.490, p=0.000). The study concluded that concluded that knowledge utilization had a significant positive effect on performance using of deposit money banks in South- East, Nigeria.
