Transactional Leadership Style and Profitability of Telecommunication Companies in South West, Nigeria

Abstract

This study examined the effect of transactional leadership style on profitability in south west, Nigeria. The findings showed that the the study revealed that there is a strong positive relationship between transactional leadership style on profitability of Telecommunication Companies in South West, Nigeria, as indicated by the highest weighted mean score of 4.422 and r. 0.759. This implies that adequate adoption of transactional leadership in terms of clear structured, task-oriented and task-based communication brings about a corresponding improvement of profitability. The study concluded that transactional leadership style serves as a yardstick for assessing profitability. The study recommended that management of Telecommunication Companies in South West, Nigeria was recommended that organisations should focus on using the transactional leadership styles on the organisations so as to enhance profitability
