Abstract

This study was carried out to examine the influence of entrepreneurial skills development and employment creation among Business Education Postgraduate Students in Rivers State Universities. To guide this study (3) research questions were raised and (3) null hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance. The population of the study consisted of 93 Business education post graduate students, drawn from the tertiary institutions in Rivers State offering business education. There was no sampling technique as the entire population was adopted as the sample size. Three (3) experts validated the instrument for the study, two (2) in Business Education and one (1) in measurement and Evaluation. Correlational research design was adopted for the study, a self-made questionnaire with 53 item statements was used to collect data from respondents. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions, while Z-test was sued to test the null hypotheses. The findings of the study established that there is a strong significant relationship between entrepreneurial skills development and employment creation among business education graduates’ in River State. Therefore, the study concluded that Entrepreneurial skills such as managerial skills, creative skills, and innovative skills influence employment creation among Business Education graduates in Rivers State. Based on the findings and conclusions, the study recommend among others that Students should be engage in learning activities that will exposed them to practical business management.
