Financial and Economic Inclusion in Nigeria's Renewed Agenda of Hope: Gender-Sensitive Paths for Women Empowerment in Non-Oil Exports
Abstract
These studies examine the critical role of financial and economic inclusion in advancing women's empowerment within the framework of Nigeria's renewed HOPE agenda. The study delves into the current scenario of gender gaps in financial access, evaluates the contribution of policy initiatives and the private sector, and underscores the transformative potential of digital financial services (DFS). This reviews several case studies and highlights the need for a gender-oriented approach to financial inclusion as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth and gender equality in Nigeria. The study examined whether initiatives such as the ASO Agreement and other empowerment programmes are aimed at economic upliftment of women and improving non-oil exports. The analysis highlights the importance of integrating women into the financial ecosystem and the potential economic benefits of such inclusion.
