Strategic Innovation Management and Organizational Productivity in Oil Sector, Nigeria: A Conceptual Review

Abstract

The study x-rays strategic innovation management on organizational productivity in oil sector. The specific objectives were to: examine the effect of innovation strategy on organizational productivity, determine the effect of technological capability on organizational productivity, and to ascertain the effect of Innovation culture on organizational productivity. This study adopted desk survey method in order to gather relevant information using textbooks, journal publications, and internet applications. Based on the literature review, it was discovered that innovation strategy had positive effect on organizational productivity, innovation culture had positive effect on organizational productivity, and technological capability had positive effect on organizational productivity. The study recommended thus: Organizations should determine an effective strategy that will improve the innovative potential of the firm, organizations should be creative in accepting new ideas insightfully that will boost the productivity of the organization. Lastly, organization should improve on information and capabilities that will lead to sustainable innovative capacity and market success.
