Curriculum Design and Development: An Analysis of Hilda’s Model

Abstract

This investigation takes a critical review of curriculum models and pin on the relevance of Taba Hilders model to the needs of Nigerian situation. It reviewed the Objective Models, the Interactive and the Process Models. It identified the Hilders model as the appropriate one to be used in the Nigerian situation, which requires an analysis of the economic and social needs of the growing youths and structure the educational system to be technology oriented. The study recommended that ascertaining specific objectives for students at the end of primary, junior secondary and senior secondary schools and polytechnics and universities is what Hilders model proposes for emerging economies like Nigeria.
