Employee Communication and Organizational Performance of Commercial Banks in Rivers State

Abstract

This research investigated the correlation between employee communication and organizational performance of commercial banks in Rivers State. The study adopted the cross- sectional research survey design. Primary data was generated through structured questionnaire The population of this study was 42 managers of commercial banks in Rivers State. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70. The hypotheses were tested using the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient. Results indicated a significant association between employee communication and organizational performance of commercial banks in Rivers State. Consequently, the study concludes that effective employee communication positively contributes to enhancing the organizational performance of commercial banks in Rivers State. The recommendations include the establishment and maintenance of open and transparent communication channels between employees and management. This may involve implementing regular town hall meetings, feedback sessions, and online platforms to facilitate information sharing.
