The Peace of Omoloro Ceremony in Okun Land. Kogi State

Abstract

This study is an assessment origin, and impact of Omoloro Deity in Okun land. It will also state the effect on the aboriginal of Okun land. (150) One hundred and fifty respondents will be chosen using purposive sampling method across from the (5) five Local Government Areas with (3) three each from the (5) five sensational zones in Kogi State. Questionnaire will be made use off and distributed to the respondents. An in-depth interview will also be conducted to select target population heads such as youth leader, Chairman of the Local Government Areas, Village heads, Women society apart from this, the data collected will be analyzed using statistical package for cultural styles of (SPSS Version 2.0). The study will also use Pie and Bar chart including percentage in analyzing and testing the hypothesis put formal in order to find out whether this deity have any impact within the society. Expected findings of the research will be useful to both indigene and non-indigene to familiarize themselves with the importance of the deities to the contemporary society and to stem the tide of the stakeholder towards the belief on dos' and don’ts of the deity. This research will also enable the indigene to facilitate policies that will prove human capital and other infrastructural deficit that will make harmonious relationship between the worshippers and the entire society.
