Nutritional Status of Young Adults Living in Sarkin Pawa, Munya Local Government Area, Niger State
Abstract
Nutritional status of young adults living in Sarkin pawa and Munya Local Government Area Niger State was carried out in this study. The study revealed that majority of these young adults was classified in the normal body mass index group. Majority of the respondents eat three time a day while some eat twice a day from the dietary intake of the respondents, it was found that majority of the respondents consumed carbohydrate base food which could be the availability of the food and satisfaction. Habits involving consumption of cereals and grains, root and tuber, fruits and vegetable they are found to be encouraging among young adults. Adequate nutritional education and diet pattern of people and their healthy nutrition behaviors and practices is hereby recommended in the present study.
