Ayoko Vivian Izibedunmeya and Inko Ayebamieghayefa

Abstract

Development of Medical Appointment Model is the use of information and telecommunication technologies to provide medical information and services at a distance. This model was designed to revolutionize the healthcare sector by optimizing the scheduling of medical appointments. Through the integration of cutting-edge technology and data-driven solutions, this model seeks to deliver improved patient care, reduced waiting times, and more efficient resource allocation within the healthcare industry. Due to shortages of medical experts, hospitals coupled with geographic isolation and lack of opportunities for these experts, the few available medical experts are often reluctant to serve in such poorer areas with lesser opportunities and advantages. As the result of these problems, the aim of this dissertation is to develop a Medical Appointment and Evaluation Management Model for hospitals, whereby patient can schedule appointment and chat with medical practitioners. The objectives of the proposed system is to study and analyze, develop, implement, test, validate and evaluate the proposed system. The method used to achieve the proposed system is Object-oriented. The proposed system run on a web browser using HTML, CSS, JavaScript at the front end while PHP was used for the validation and MySQL is used to store and retrieved information from the database. The following objectives are achieved after the new system has been design and implemented, the system enable to book appointment and consult the doctor directly. The result showed that there was a seamless and user-friendly interface designed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The frontend design received posture feedback from users. The model was successfully trained to predict the optimum period of the day for appointment booking.
