Design and Conceptualization of an Intelligent Model for Self-Guide in Project Writing
Abstract
Academic project writing is a central requirement for graduation across higher institutions, yet many students, particularly in developing countries, face persistent challenges such as inadequate supervision, poor structural guidance, and limited access to effective academic writing tools. This study presents the design and conceptualization of an intelligent self-guided model for project writing, aimed at providing learners with structured, AI-enhanced support throughout the research process. Drawing on theories of scaffolding and self-regulated learning, the model integrates a project template engine, chapter-specific writing scaffolds, and an AI-powered supervisory assistant to deliver real-time feedback, citation guidance, and progress tracking. The architecture also incorporates a formatting and output generator that produces well-structured documents in DOCX, PDF, and PowerPoint formats, thereby supporting both written submission and oral defense preparation. Unlike existing grammar or plagiarism tools, the system simulates key roles of human supervisors by offering chapter-wise guidance, critical thinking prompts, and rubric-based self-assessment. The model is designed to reduce students’ reliance on overburdened academic supervisors while promoting independence, coherence, and academic rigor. The proposed conceptual model demonstrates how structured templates, scaffolds and artificial intelligence can provide academic writing support, enhance consistency and ensure timely project completion.
