Post-Partum Haemorrhage Prevention Among Women in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State-A Psychological Perspective

Abstract

This study was on postpartum Haemorrhage prevention among women in Obudu, Cross River State of Nigeria – a psychological perspective. The survey was on six communities in Begiading ward in Obudu Local Government Area where both health posts and health centres cases were used for study by the investigators. It was established that postpartum incidence were found in Begiading communities, with 30%. However, it was revealed that, there were virtually absence of eclectic approaches which was the usage, of ‘chemotherapy’ and ‘psychotherapentic’ approaches to the prevention of postpartum cases. This was majorly the problem that resulted in a member of maternal morbidity births in Obudu Cross River State of Nigeria. This study therefore recommended a greater recognition and attention to postpartum prevention from the psychological perspective in our health sector in the interest of Obudu, Cross River, Nigerians and indeed African women in their child birth challenges.
