Analysis of Raining Season Results of Indoor Thermal Comfort of Residential Building with Courtyard in Some Urban Centers in Abia State
Abstract
Indoor thermal comfortability of residential buildings in Aba, Umuahia and Ohafia in the rainy season were investigated using Fanger 1970, 1972, predicted mean vote, which indexed thermal comfort on the range of −3 to +3 (cold to hot). Five hundred and thirty-six respondents were selected from the three urban centers for interview. Results retrieved were analyzed using Fanger Thermal comfort index. At the end, the mornings in the urban centers were cool, while afternoons were slightly warm. Evenings were slightly different from mornings for the conducive indoor comfort to remain stable it was recommended that indoors should be free for ease of circulation or air.
