Analysis of Public Housing Typology Providers and Their Percentage Contributions to Total Housing Stock in Awka Capital Territory (ACT), Anambra State, Nigeria

Abstract

The work examines the percentage contribution of public housing providers to the Total Housing Stock in Awka Capital Territory Anambra State. Out of the total housing stock of 1988, three hundred and thirty-three houses were selected as proportionate sample size allocation. It was observed that Anambra State Housing Development Cooperation contributed 99.50 to public housing stock while the Federal Ministry Lands, Housing and Urban Development Filed Headquarters Awka contributed the remaining 0.5% of the public housing stock. It was however recommended that public housing providers should strive to provide at least 250 dwelling units annually to counter the housing supply deficits.
