Abstract

This study investigated the extent of utilization of AI collaboration tools by secretaries for effective job performance in public organizations in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Two research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted survey research design. The population of the study comprised 527 secretaries in 32 ministries in Ebonyi State. The census method was employed due to the manageable size of the population. A-17 item structured questionnaire face and content validated by three experts in the field of education was used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was validated using trial testing and score collected were calculated using Cronbach alpha which yielded correlation coefficients of 0.72 and 0.78 for clusters B1 to B2. The researcher with the help of eight research assistants adequately briefed administered copies of the questionnaire to the respondents. Mean, standard deviation and two-way ANOVA were used for data analysis. Findings revealed that virtual assistants and virtual meeting tools are rarely utilized by secretaries for effective job performance in public organizations in Ebonyi State. It was also revealed that there was a significant difference in the mean ratings of secretaries on the extent they utilize virtual assistants and virtual meeting tools for effective job performance in public organizations in Ebonyi State based on gender and years of experience.
