The Power of Reactions: A Comparative Overview of the Benefits of Chemical and Nuclear Processes for Sustainable Development

Edafe, Emokiniovo Augustine, Obarakpor, Kingsley Irikefe, Ogoro Oke Stanley

Abstract

This paper comprehensively and exhaustively reviews the differences between chemical reactions and nuclear reactions which are two basic reactions mechanisms in the field of chemistry and its related area. It states concisely that chemical reactions involve breakage of bonds and rebuilding of bonds whereas nuclear reactions simply involve fission and fusion of structures of substance. It also explains vividly that chemical reactions occur outside the nucleus of atoms whereas nuclear reactions take place in the nucleus of atoms. It also looks deeply, the benefits to humanity with regard to agricultural practices, environmental and energy sustainability. The paper concluded by looking into the useful applications of the two reaction processes, states recommendations of putting away the application of energy generated by nuclear reactions for war but to use it in generating electricity to reduce global warming.
