Competency-Based Approaches in Agricultural Education

Abstract

This non-empirical article examines competency-based approaches in agricultural education, clarifying conceptual foundations and implementation challenges. It argues that agricultural education is well-suited to competency-based reform because of its practical nature. The article proposes a framework positioning competency standards at the core of curriculum and pedagogy to reposition agricultural education as a driver for sustainable agri-food system transformation.
