Perceive Severity of Measles Resulting into the Uptake of Second Dose Measles Vaccine (MCV2) Among Caregivers of Under-Five Children in Bauchi North, Bauchi State

Abstract

Measles remains a leading cause of vaccine-preventable deaths among children under five in Nigeria. This cross-sectional study of 403 caregivers in Bauchi North assessed how perceived severity of the disease influences the uptake of the second dose of the measles vaccine (MCV2). The findings show that perceived severity significantly influences vaccine uptake. The study recommends enhancing awareness and involving community leaders to improve vaccination coverage.
