Government Policy and Waste Management in Bayelsa State

Abstract

The effects of government policy on waste management in Bayelsa State are examined in this study. One of the biggest issues facing Nigeria's federal and state governments is trash management. This study looks at the main issues facing waste management as well as how proper waste management practices affect the efficacy of government waste management policies. The study, which used a survey research design, concludes that the state government, via the Ministry of Environment and Sanitation Authority, put in place a number of initiatives to guarantee appropriate waste disposal, policy enforcement, and upkeep of disposal sites. [cite_start]In order to accomplish sustainable waste management in the state, this study emphasizes the necessity of tougher enforcement and more public awareness. [cite: 1]
