Perceived Problems Encountered by Undergraduate Students' in The Use of Online Classes in Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba

Abstract

The study investigated the perceived problems encountered by undergraduate students' in the use of online classes in Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba. Two research questions guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The study was carried out in Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba. The population of the study comprised of all the students in Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba from 2022/2023 to 2024/2025 academic sessions. The total number of students under study is 12,075 students. The sample size for the study comprised of 6225 students. The sampling technique used was disproportionate stratified random sampling. This was to ensure that the whole department under study was well represented. An instrument titled, Problems Encountered by Undergraduate Students' in the use of Online Classes Questionnaire (PEUSOCQ) was used for data collection. The instrument was administered by the researchers to the students in Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba (PAAU) and collected on the spot. The data collected for the study were analyzed using, mean and standard deviation in answering all the research questions. Result showed that students encountered problems during the online classes in PAAU. The result also, showed that students accept the use of online classes irrespective of the perceived problems encountered in the online teaching and learning. The study concluded that online class improved students learning especially, undergraduate's student in PAAU. The study recommended among others that The government should provide the lecturers and students with enough facilities for online classes.
