Abstract

This study investigates the complex interplay between insecurity and demographic shifts in Nigeria, with a particular focus on the North East region, which has been ravaged by conflict. The ongoing violence, primarily attributed to the Boko Haram insurgency and inter-communal clashes, has led to significant displacement and migration, disrupting social structures and economic activities. This research aims to analyze the implications of these demographic changes for sustainable development, highlighting the challenges faced by local communities. The findings underscore the urgent need for integrated approaches that address both security and development issues to foster resilience and sustainable growth in the region.
