Design, Simulation, and Thermal Analysis of a Low-Cost Briquetting Stove Heating Chamber
Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable cooking technologies in developing countries has driven the need for biomass-based energy systems. The study presents an innovative design and thermal analysis of a low-cost briquetting stove for domestic cooking. It is designed using SolidWorks to utilize biomass briquettes made from agricultural residues. A blend of SolidWorks modelling, heat transfer equations, and experimental testing was used to evaluate its performance. The stove achieved a thermal efficiency of 29.4%, with a combustion rate of 1.8kg/hr and minimal smoke emissions. The results confirm the viability of briquetting stoves as a clean alternative to firewood and charcoal, contributing to improved energy access and reduced deforestation that could contribute to Global Warming.
