An overview of Integrating Passive Cooling Strategies in Waterfront Mixed Use Building

Kirika, Bariyaa Benedictus, Arc Iyereta CookeyGam

Abstract

This study explores the integration of passive cooling strategies into waterfront mixed-use developments, through an in-depth literature review, environmental analysis, and comparative case studies, the research identifies sustainable design principles applicable to tropical waterfront contexts. The proposed approach addresses the challenges of urban heat islands, climate resilience, and land-use fragmentation by offering a thermally comfortable, functionally efficient, and environmentally responsible development model.
