Cloud Storage in Educational Data: Evaluating Student Experiences and Perceptions

Abstract

Cloud storage technology has rapidly become an integral part of modern educational environments, providing students with convenient access to learning resources and collaborative tools. This study investigates the perceptions and usage patterns of cloud storage among higher education students, focusing on accessibility, perceived usefulness, collaboration, and security concerns. A mixed-methods approach was employed, collecting quantitative data through surveys administered to a diverse student population. Results revealed that students highly value cloud storage for its accessibility and positive impact on learning activities, with mean scores indicating strong agreement on its usefulness. However, concerns regarding data security and trust in cloud platforms remain moderate, reflecting an area that requires attention from educators and service providers. Additionally, differences in perceptions based on gender, institution type, and level of study were examined using t-tests and ANOVA analyses, revealing significant variation in some aspects. The findings highlight the importance of addressing security issues and enhancing user confidence to promote wider adoption and effective use of cloud technologies in education. This research contributes to understanding how cloud storage can support educational goals and informs institutional strategies for technology integration.
