Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a disruptive force in various industries, including the insurance sector, by revolutionizing transparency, trust, and HR processes. This review provides an overview of how blockchain is transforming the insurance landscape. Blockchain, as a decentralized and immutable ledger, ensures transparency by recording all transactions in a secure and tamper-proof manner. In the insurance sector, this transparency is crucial for policyholders, insurers, and regulators alike, as it enhances trust and reduces the risk of fraud. Through blockchain, stakeholders can access real-time data on policies, claims, and payouts, fostering greater accountability and efficiency in the insurance ecosystem. Moreover, blockchain's cryptographic features enable secure and transparent smart contracts, automating and streamlining various HR processes within insurance companies. Smart contracts facilitate the execution of predefined terms and conditions without the need for intermediaries, thereby reducing administrative costs and minimizing errors. From employee onboarding and payroll management to performance evaluations and compliance, blockchain- powered smart contracts enhance the speed, accuracy, and integrity of HR operations. Furthermore, blockchain enhances trust in the insurance sector by improving data security and privacy. With sensitive information encrypted and distributed across a network of nodes, blockchain mitigates the risk of data breaches and unauthorized access, thereby bolstering consumer confidence and regulatory compliance.
