Assessing the Relationship between Motivation and Employee Productivity among Staff of Selected Bet9ja Shops in Makurdi Metropolis Benue State Nigeria
Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between motivation and employee productivity among staff of selected Bet9ja shops in Makurdi Metropolis, Benue State, Nigeria. A sample of 100 employees was selected using stratified random sampling and simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. The findings reveal a strong positive and significant relationship between employee motivation and productivity, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.745**. A significant positive relationship exists between employee motivation and productivity, with 75% of respondents agreeing that motivation is a crucial factor in employee performance. The study's findings have implications for retail businesses in Nigeria, particularly Bet9ja shops, to prioritize employee motivation and develop effective strategies to boost productivity and overall business performance. The study highlights the importance of motivation in enhancing employee performance and productivity. Recommendations include prioritizing training and development programs, clear communication of procedures, and regular studies to identify effective motivation tools. By implementing these recommendations, Bet9ja shops can improve employee motivation, productivity, and overall business performance.
