This study investigates the role of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and agroecology in enhancing agricultural resilience and food security in the face of climate change in Africa. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, case studies, and policy frameworks, the research explores how these adaptive strategies are being implemented across the continent and assesses their effectiveness. The findings reveal that while CSA techniques—such as drought- resistant crop varieties, water-efficient irrigation, and soil management practices—offer tangible benefits to agricultural productivity and resilience, their widespread adoption remains constrained by limited access to finance, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient extension services. Similarly, agroecological approaches, including crop diversification, agroforestry, and organic farming, have proven successful in fostering sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing biodiversity, yet face significant challenges from prevailing agricultural policies and institutional frameworks that favor large-scale industrial agriculture. The study recommends scaling up the adoption of CSA and agroecology by improving access to financing, technology, and farmer training programs. It also advocates for policy reforms that support agroecological practices and climate adaptation, as well as increased investment in research and development. Additionally, fostering multi-stakeholder collaborations, including public-private partnerships, is critical to overcoming institutional barriers and ensuring the effective implementation of IIARD International Journal of Geography & Environmental Management Vol. 11 No. 2 2025 E-ISSN 2504-8821 P-ISSN 2695-1878 www.iiardjournals.org Online Version IIARD – International Institute of Academic Research and Development Page 9 climate adaptation strategies.
