An Analysis of the Reaction of the Nigerian Governments Against Covid-19 Pandemic in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria: 2020-2022 A.D.

Abstract


This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the Nigerian government's reaction against COVID-19 pandemic, specifically focusing on Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State between 2020 and 2022 A.D. The research explores the historical and socio-economic context of Tarauni LGA, examining its geographical and demographic characteristics as well as its healthcare infrastructure prior to the pandemic. The study investigates the spread of COVID-19 within the area, analyzing government interventions, such as lockdown measures, healthcare policies, and contributions from Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in mitigating the virus. Furthermore, the study highlights the political, social, and economic impact of the pandemic on the region. Challenges encountered during the pandemic management, such as inadequate healthcare facilities and logistical issues, are discussed in detail. Through a review of relevant literature, primary data collection, and analysis, the research identifies both successes and shortcomings in the government's response, offering insights into future pandemic preparedness. The study highlights with a summary of findings, emphasizing the lasting effects of COVID-19 on Tarauni LGA and the lessons learned from the constructive efforts made by the governments at the various level in overcoming the disaster studied about herein.
