Harnessing Radio for Advancing Gender Equality and Sustainable Development in Ekiti and Ondo States

Oyinkansola Akinmade

Abstract

In Nigeria, particularly in the South-Western states of Ekiti and Ondo, gender disparities persist, impacting economic development, social justice, and overall societal progress. This paper advocates for leveraging radio as a transformative medium to promote gender equality and justice-development in these states. Through strategic community engagement, education, and awareness-raising initiatives, radio can facilitate transformative change, empower marginalized voices, and foster an inclusive environment conducive to gender equity.
