The study examined the impact of the university work environment on promoting sustainable academic growth in Nigerian universities. A survey research design was adopted and conducted in Calabar, Cross River State. Two research questions guided the study, which involved a population of 150 university lecturers from the University of Calabar and Cross River State University, selected through random sampling. A structured questionnaire titled “Impact of the University Work Environment on Promoting Sustainable Academic Growth Questionnaire (IUWEPSAGQ)” was used for data collection. The questionnaire consisted of Sections A and B, with a total of 12 items representing the two research questions. The instrument was structured on a four-point rating scale: Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D), and Strongly Disagree (SD). Face validity of the instrument was established using two experts from the Faculty of Education at the University of Calabar. The reliability of the instrument was determined through a pilot test, and the data collected were analyzed using the Cronbach Alpha formula to assess internal consistency, yielding correlation coefficients of .90 and .86 for clusters B1 and B2, respectively, with an overall value of .79. On-the-spot distribution and collection of questionnaires were employed, with follow-ups for those who did not complete them immediately. Out of the 150 copies distributed, 139 were correctly filled and returned for data analysis. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions and assess the homogeneity of the respondents’ mean ratings. Findings revealed that administrative support and workplace culture significantly contribute to promoting sustainable academic growth in Nigerian universities. It is recommended that universities prioritize the development of robust administrative support systems that provide adequate resources, training, and professional development opportuni
